About
Hey, I'm Jan – a nerd at heart, fascinated by computers, Unix systems, and open source since my early youth.
My journey started with Ubuntu, moved on to Arch Linux, Gentoo, and Debian, led me to FreeBSD, and finally to OpenBSD, which has become my operating system of choice today.
I love systems that are transparent and give me full control. This pursuit of understanding has led me to topics such as system administration, software development in C and Python, as well as reverse engineering.
My Focus
- Unix: I work daily with OpenBSD, FreeBSD, Arch, Gentoo, and Debian.
- Programming: C and Python are my preferred languages.
- Projects: Automations, tools, experiments with security and reverse engineering.
- Knowledge sharing: Documentation in the form of blog posts.
Music and Faith
Besides technology, music and faith are two constant parts of my life.
- Guitar is for me a form of expression, inspiration, and prayer.
- My faith in Jesus gives me strength, orientation, and hope.
This combination of technology, music, and faith shapes my everyday life and flows into everything I do.
Why this Blog?
I write here to capture my experiences, share thoughts, and document things that matter to me.
Sometimes these are small snippets and how-tos, sometimes longer texts about my journey with Unix, learning the guitar, or my faith.
My goal is not perfection, but honesty and authenticity.
Maybe you will find something useful, inspiring, or simply a glimpse into my path.
Thanks for stopping by.
